Fall Soccer Update

Hello Wellington Soccer families,

As the upcoming fall soccer season quickly approaches, the WSA Board wanted to send out a communication on the current state of affairs and when we anticipate getting started.

We are currently following guidelines from our parent organizations (Ohio North Youth Soccer Association) and the state of Ohio.

While the state has moved youth sports (including soccer) to Phase 2, which allows for practicing, small group play and intra-club/team scrimmages, it does NOT allow for sanctioned league play or tournaments (which is in Phase 3).

We hope that moving to Phase 3 happens in the next few weeks, however we don't actually have any specific timeline or dates on when it will happen.

In the meantime, the WSA Board is discussing certain procedures and safety guidelines that we anticipate implementing for the safety of all players and coaches this upcoming season.

Once we finalize these details and get more instructions from the state of Ohio, we will plan on holding a virtual Parents meeting via Zoom to keep everyone informed. Most likely looking at Mid August. This meeting would be held before the season kicks off.

Please be on the lookout for more info in the coming weeks.

Thanks and please don't hesitate to reach out to the Board with questions or concerns.

Thanks,

Wellington Soccer Association
